We are sensitive to your needs as a laboring woman and understand our role is to document quietly and unobtrusively. Hiring a birth photographer frees up your support people and ensures you get those important moments captured. $450 birth photography with doula services. $1100 birth photography without doula services.

During these classes you will learn how to have an anxiety free birth experience and the birth of your dreams. You will walk away knowledged and feeling empowered about your birth.

MEET JOY CZECH, BM, CD(DONA), C-CBE, LC, CPS
Joy is an experienced doula, servicing Northwest Indiana, Southwest Michigan, and Chicagoland area since 2015. She offers personalized Prenatal, Birthing, and Postpartum support; as well as, Birth Photography, Deep Relaxation Birth Support, Spinning Babies, Placenta Encapsulation, Lactation Support, Mother’s Blessing event planning, Certified Childbirth Education, Mama Minded Support Group, and Purpose Driven Life Coaching. Joy’s goal is to give you and your family the attention and knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your pregnancy and labor process.
She has a Bachelor in Science in Education and is a certified doula with DONA International, and studying for her nursing degree. Once her degree is complete, she will become a certified nurse midwife. Her long-term goal is to establish birthing centers around the world to help women experience a positive birth in a supportive environment.
She became deeply rooted in helping others experience the beauty of birth when she experienced infertility of her own. During this hard time, she was asked to attend her first birth, and the experience changed her life forever.
After this birth, she decided to use her infertility and loss for the good, to turn it around and have loving women become her passion. Whether she was able to carry a baby or not of her own, she wanted to do everything possible to give women the most beautiful and empowering birth experiences and knew her next steps were to become a Doula.
Joy has become dedicated to helping mothers have so much more than just a standard birth experience. Woman feel empowered by the exceptional service she provides through physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and after birth. She offers monthly support groups at her home for all MAMA’s. This includes those who have children, pregnant, or with hopes to be a mom in the future.
Joy creates a relaxing atmosphere for the mother and partner throughout the pregnancy experience through a positive, genuine, and encouraging personality. Joy’s experience with the struggle of infertility and overcoming such a hardship has given her a compassionate heart to serve, encourage and educate families on their journey throughout parenthood. Joy builds a deep relationship with her clients by using her strong communication skills and listening to their desires, wants, and needs for their birth experience.
A desire that Joy has had is to grow her family not just biologically but through adoption as well. With her first adoption in 2019, Joy was so passionate about breastfeeding that she was able to induce lactation and breastfeed.
In 2022, Joy went through a new adoption process called embryo adoption and welcomed a new baby into their home through this amazing process. She is excited about what the future holds as her family continues to grow.

TRAINED SPINNING BABIES
Babies have a very important and an active role during labor. As a mom, your job is to dilate; your baby's job is to rotate! Babies must navigate through your pelvis to be born. Spinning Babies is an wonderful opportunity to learn techniques to help bring balance to your body and address any restrictions in your pelvis in order to make birth easier. You will lean different birth positions that can allow baby to come through your pelvis more easily. Together, you and your birth partner can use these techniques during pregnancy and labor to help make room for baby.

Joy was such a powerful presence in the time I needed her the most. She met with me while I was pregnant several times and even recommended a midwife that I employed. Joy offered peace in a difficult pregnancy for me. I don't know what I would have done with out her. She was and is a blessing to me and I can't thank her enough for her help. She came during my night labor right away, she got me up and moving, she offended emotional support and was my voice when I didn't have one. She was seriously AMAZING!!! I had a VBA3C 2 years ago & she was a great support. She helped me a ton and she also helped my husband as well. She was teaching my husband different techniques on how to help me when I was in labor. Once it was time to push... she took pictures of the birth and it was great. I love the pictures! She made sure the atmosphere of the room was calm & relaxing.
She also would text me once in awhile to ask how I was and the baby. Thank you soooo much! If you are looking for a doula.....LOOK NO FURTHER!!! Joy is your girl!!!

What can I say?? Joy in Birth is the best doula!!! I highly recommend her to all of my friends. I met her when I was about 25 or so weeks along with my twins. Being my first and only birth, I was nervous about the upcoming weeks. Would I be able to make it to 40 weeks? Would I be able to deliver naturally? Would the babies be healthy?? Joy answered all those questions for me. We met a few times before the birth. She was very thorough and very supportive of my wants, needs, and plans for delivery and post partum. At 38 weeks I was induced. We waited a long time for the babies to make their entrance into the world, but Joy was there beside me the whole time. If I had a problem, she fixed it, if I wanted anything, she went and got it. She did all the communication to the doctors and nurses for me. She supported and directed me during the chaos of the delivery and after I passed out and my husband was concerned after baby B caused me to hemorrhage, she assured both of us that everything was good and babies were healthy!! Thank you Joy!!! You are the best!!!! Btw, Joy gives the BEST labor backrubs! You will NOT regret using Joy in Birth!

Joy was my guardian angel during my pregnancy and birth. I didn't have many friends that had babies, and everyone in my family had babies so long ago that they couldn't remember anything! Everyone else kept scaring me with their horrid birth stories. Why do people do this to pregnant women? Save your traumatic birth story for your therapist, not a hormonal, vulnerable pregnant woman! I needed someone to guide me, calm my nerves, and be my rock. Joy was that and more. She couched me during my pregnancy about birth and we created a birth plan. Any question I had she would answer, in a knowledgeable, fun, and unjudgemental way. I ended up changing my ob when I was 37 weeks pregnant to a midwife. Joy helped me not feel so crazy for doing this! And it was absolutely the right decision for us. She also gives the BEST aromatherapy prenatal massages. During labor, she helped me go through each contraction, she would "feed" me my protein shakes during labor since I was high risk for c-section and wasn't allowed to eat, but she wanted to make sure I was getting enough fluids and sustenance to keep going through labor. She helped teach my husband how to help me work through contractions and massage me. She kept me moving to progress my labor. And when my son arrived, we all cried together. It was beautiful and I know I wouldn't have had this beautiful experience if it wasn't for her.

Joy is AMAZING!! She helped to make my birth experience relaxing and memorable. We met a couple times prior to the delivery to go over my birth plan. You can be confident that Joy will support you in your birth plan, however that looks for you. She made me feel comfortable and confident. She was a great addition to my birth team and provided emotional support to myself and husband. She stayed afterwards to ensure both myself and newly born son were doing well. Joy is great! I was very excited and prepared to use Joy throughout my birth... but my lil guy had a different plan and came flying out 3 wks early! I did however use some of her techniques I had remembered from our conversations to get me through the pain, and I got to use her and her photography skills to capture my lil guy in his first few hours of life outside my belly. She was so sweet and so amazing to work with!
